CCTV Funding Program
Bathurst Regional Council offers financial assistance to local businesses for the installation of CCTV. In 2023/2024 Council allocated $10,000 to the program, the seventh year the grant round has operated. Since the scheme was introduced 91 businesses have been approved for funding under the program, with 80 businesses completing the installation of CCTV at their premises. Under the funding scheme businesses are able to apply for funding up to a maximum of $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Council introduced the program to assist businesses in improving security and safety for the community at business premises across the local government area. The funding for the 2023/20224 is closed.
Projects must be completed within each relevant financial year to be eligible to apply for a grant.
Applications will need to address the following criteria:
1 Specifications, quality and source of equipment.
2 Surveillance equipment to be registered with Bathurst Police.
3 Completion of installation within 90 days of approval.
4 Information supporting and addressing the need for CCTV in the business location.
5 Potential for coverage of the public space adjacent to the premises.
For further information contact Council's Cultural and Community Services Department on (02) 6333 6523.
CCTV Register
Once having your CCTV network installed, businesses must register with the NSW Police Force. The CCTV Registry is the initiative of the NSW Police Force to record the location of CCTV camera systems, and other related information across the state.
The CCTV Register assists NSW Police in gathering evidence when a crime is committed in your area. Police will use the Register information to contact your business and request footage that may be vital to solving crime.
You can register online via the NSW Police Force website
Please note, all data will be stored in a secure database owned and operated by the NSW Police Force. Authorised officers will be able to access the Register for law enforcement purposes only.
Your information will not be provided to third parties.
Having access to accurate information is crucial to any police investigation and with your help we can reduce crime and have a safer community.
If you have any questions in relation to the CCTV Register, please phone (02) 9768 0699 or email cctv@police.nsw.gov.au
