Grab your scarf and beanie, the 2024 Bathurst Winter Festival kicks off tomorrow, Saturday 6 July.

Mayor Cr Jess Jennings said after more than a week of activity on the Winter Festival site, everything is ready for the festival opening.

“The Winter Playground will open at 9am tomorrow, and the official opening of the festival will kick off from 4pm when the first of our young talented artists take to the Bowman Dental All Schools stage.

“The opening also features the popular lantern parade which will wind its way through the Winter Playground and will finish in front of the Courthouse before the official opening.

“The silent disco returns and the illuminations will be switched on for the first time at 6pm.

“We’ve had strong ticket sales for ice skating sessions and accommodation bookings are strong right across the holiday period so it’s shaping up to be busy Winter Festival.

“We expect with the numbers attending it will be busy, so we encourage everyone to take their time to explore the precinct and as well as enjoying the food and entertainment in the Winter Playground, also take advantage of the local pubs, clubs and restaurants that surround the area.

“The Winter Playground also looks different for 2024.  This year it includes the ice rink, carousel, ferris wheel and two other rides – the sizzler and tea cups. The rides will be in operation every day of the festival.  We will also have coffee and food trucks onsite every day,” Cr Jennings said.
