The construction of the new public amenities block at Bicentennial Park is complete.

With improved male and female toilets, an accessible toilet/parent's room, and an accessible ‘Changing Places’ Design 2.0 adult change facility that includes a toilet, shower, adult changing table, and an overhead crane to meet unique needs, this amenities block fills the gap for much needed accessible public facilities in our city.

Bathurst Mayor, Cr Robert Taylor, will officially open the facility next Wednesday at 3:30pm.

When: 3:30pm, 18 December 2024

Location: Bicentennial Park, Cnr William and Stanley St, Bathurst

The amenities block features a heritage exterior aesthetic to suit the local area, while incorporating a modernised interior. Additional works included establishing two accessible parking spaces on Williams St with a connection to the Changing Places facility via a new 1500mm accessible path.

Mayor Cr Robert Taylor affirmed that this project proudly delivers on Council’s vision to introduce more accessible places to the Bathurst community that are for use by all residents and visitors.

“This facility is a great addition to our public amenities here in Bathurst. It provides much needed peace of mind and support for those with disability in our city" he said.

Local disability services provider Vivability is set to manage the facility.
