Council has provided support to more than 20 local organisations to support their events and activities through the Section 356 donations program.

Mayor Cr Jess Jennings said the annual funding round is a way for Council to support a diverse range of community groups to run events, assist with operational costs or replace equipment.

“Community groups are at the heart of our community. They provide valuable services and networks for like minded people to come together on a regular basis. The funding from Council helps ensure these groups can continue to operate into the future.

“The funding allocations this year range from sponsorship of the annual Carols by Candlelight to assisting the CWA run the Central Western Group Schools’ Public Speaking Competition and helping the Bathurst City & RSL Band Association to purchase new equipment to record band performances and replace gas heaters,” Cr Jennings said.
