Temporary Road Closure – Suttor Street
Bathurst Regional Council advises that Suttor Street, between Cummings Street and Larson Street, will be temporarily closed on Wednesday 22 January 2025 between 9.00am and 4.00pm to undertake removal of a dead tree within the Suttor Street median island. Local access will be maintained for affected residents within the work area under traffic control.

Business Information Session | 2025 Bathurst Winter Festival
Calling all Bathurst Businesses! On Wednesday, 19 February, Council will be hosting a business information session ahead of the 2025 Bathurst Winter Festival.
Hosted by Bathurst Regional Council’s Economic Development, Events and Tourism teams, this session is tailored specifically to interested local businesses of the Bathurst Region.

Batteries, or products containing batteries, contain hazardous chemicals and can create a fire if the battery gets damaged. Give them a safe goodbye by taping both ends of the battery terminals and taking them to an approved collection site. You can find out more from the EPA’s Safe Battery Recycling website.
2025 Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon – Temporary Road Closure
Council advises the 2025 Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon includes the following temporary road closures on Sunday 26 January 2025, between 8am and 11am:
• William Street between Charlotte Street and Stanley Street
• Stanley Street between William Street and George Street
2025 Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour - Temporary Road Closure - Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit
The Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit will be temporarily closed, and traffic will be controlled for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, from approximately 7am Wednesday 29 January to approximately 6pm Thursday 6 February 2025 (inclusive), to conduct the motor racing event and to control the movement of spectators.
Mountain Straight: just above the entrance to the Paddock Camping Area
Conrod Straight: just above Murray’s Corner.
Persons with the correct ticketing/accreditation wishing to gain access to the Track should enter via Panorama Avenue and Pit Straight. This access is to be used by all persons with proper accreditation wishing to gain access to the Circuit.
Residents: Barriers will be set up at Murray’s Corner and Mountain Straight with security arrangements for residents to proceed to their homes.
Bathurst Library – New Year Tech Help
In January, Bathurst Library is pleased to offer free Tech Support sessions to the local community through the Intergenerational Tech Support Program – Youngsters.
This innovative program brings tech-savvy young people (Youngsters) and learners together for one-on-one tech help sessions, including how to use smart phones, make video calls, connect on social media and more.
30-minute sessions are available to book on the following dates:
• Saturday, 18 January 2025 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
• Thursday, 23 January 2025 | 1:00 PM - 03:00 PM
• Thursday, 30 January 2025 | 1:00 PM - 03:00 PM

Council is seeking expressions of interest from community organisations and individuals seeking funding from Council to be included in the 2025/2026 budget.
Funding is available for the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
To apply, submit an application form which is available on Council’s website or from the Civic Centre, 158 Russell Street, Bathurst by 4pm on Friday 7 February 2025.
Organisations/groups who have received funding previously should re-apply if they wish to be considered for further funding.
Marang Connections Cultural Day
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 12-24 years are invited to attend the free Marang Connections Cultural Day on Wednesday 22 January at Kelso Community Hub.
Council has partnered with the Bathurst Local Aboriginal Land Council to coordinate boomerang throwing, cooking, dancing, traditional woodworks, weaving and yarns with Elders.
Registrations are essential and transport is available by phoning Bathurst Regional Council on 02 6333 6523.
Marang Connections Cultural Day is fully funded by the NSW Government Regional Youth Holiday Break Program.

The Bathurst Regional Council Community Engagement Strategy is our commitment to quality consultation and actively involving our community in decision-making and information sharing.
This Strategy ensures that we approach all our engagement activities consistently, especially for projects that need community input. Our aim is to keep you well-informed about Council issues, strategies, projects, and plans, and to give you the chance to be part of the decision-making and policy development process.
Under the Local Government Act 1993 - Section 406 Integrated Planning and Reporting the IP & R framework (IP&R), Council is required to review its Community Engagement Strategy (CES) within three months of the election of the new Council.
Council is seeking the community's views on the draft Community Engagement Strategy.
Submissions close 4pm Tuesday 28 January 2025.

2025 Waste 2 Art | The Year of the Toys
Bathurst’s 2025 Waste 2 Art theme is 'The Year of the Toys,' challenging participants to turn their used toys into artistic creations.
Australia's demand for toys and games is on the rise. Reports indicate that of the 200 thousand tonnes of imported toys in 2024, over 100 thousand tonnes of this will end up as waste. To combat this, we can choose to reuse, recirculate and recycle our toys – or turn them into art!
The Waste 2 Art competition is open to schools, community groups and individuals, with a range of categories catered to different age groups and art types.
Entries close Monday 5 May 2025.
Road Closure | Hughes & Marsden Lane roundabout construction
Marsden Lane, between Ilumba Way and Sunbright Road will be temporarily closed to traffic from Monday 21 October 2024 for approximately 22 weeks for the construction of a roundabout.
Local resident access will be maintained.
