2025 Anzac Day Service – Road Closures
The 2025 Anzac Day Service and March will be held on Friday 25 April 2025, with temporary road closures in place within the Bathurst Central Business District, Rockley and Limekilns Road, Forest Grove as follows:
1. Russell Street between George and William Streets 4am to 12midday
2. For the duration of the Anzac Day March, progressive temporary closure of the following roads –
• Rankin Street between the laneway (Gallipoli Road) into the RSL Car Park and Russell Street,
• Russell Street between Rankin and William Streets,
• William Street between Russell and Church Streets,
• Church Street between William and George Streets,
• George Street between Church and Russell Streets, and
• Russell Street between George and William Streets, for the termination of the March.
3. Rockley - Budden Street - 7.30am to 10am
4. Limekilns Road, Forest Grove - The Memorial Cairn Service 3pm –– speed restriction of 40km/h for the duration of the service.
Australian War Memorials - Bathurst Library History Talk
Bathurst Library is pleased to be screening the documentary War’s End – World War One Memorials of Australia on Tuesday 29 April.
This documentary explores the role of war memorials in Australia, how war impacted Australian society and how the country adjusted to peace after WW1. It includes expert discussion on the role of Charles Bean, official historian of the war. Expert speakers include Stephen Garton, Darren Mitchell, Peter Stanley, Peter FitzSimons and Kerrie Anne Christian.
This timely event will start at 6pm with an introduction by the director, Geoffrey Sykes who will be available for questions at the end of the screening.
Bookings are essential and can be made by calling the library on 6333 6281 or visiting in-person. Bathurst Library is located at 70-78 Keppel St, with off-street parking via Seymour St.

Draft Bathurst Regional Community Strategic Plan (CSP) 2025-2045
From August 2024 to February 2025, we asked the community to share their thoughts on the future of the Bathurst Region. Over 2,800 people participated, contributing over 6,000 ideas and comments. We’ve worked closely with Councillors and staff to create the latest version of the Community Strategic Plan, which outlines a shared vision for our region.
The draft Community Strategic Plan is provided in the YourSay Document Library.

The draft Plan is on public exhibition for 28 days from 22 April 2025 to 20 May 2025.
Draft Bathurst Region Community Heritage Plan 2025-2029
At the Council meeting held on 16 April 2025, Council resolved to place the Draft Bathurst Region Community Heritage Plan 2025-2029 on public exhibition and invite public submissions.

Written submissions in relation to the draft plan should be emailed to council@bathurst.nsw.gov.au
Any submission that you make on the draft Plan may be included without alteration (including names and addresses) in reports that are available to the public and in Council business papers. Any person may make a submission to the Council in relation to the draft plan. Submissions close at 4pm on Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
Draft Long Term Financial Plan 2025-2035, Draft Delivery Program 2025-2029 and Operational Plan 2025-2026
The Draft Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) 2025-2035 is a ten-year view of Council’s finances and has been developed under the NSW Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework.
The Delivery Program & Operational Plan, incorporating the Revenue Policy, outlines the strategies and financial resources required over the next four years to implement the key directions identified by the community in the draft Bathurst Community Strategic Plan 2025-2045.
At the Council Meeting held Wednesday 16 April 2025, Council resolved to place the following documents on public exhibition for a minimum of 28 days:
1. Draft Long Term Financial Plan 2025-2035
2. Draft Delivery Program 2025-2029
3. Operational Plan 2025-2026
The draft plans are open for public submissions and can be viewed online at yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au or at the Civic Centre or Bathurst Library.
Submissions are invited until 4pm on Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
Bathurst Library, Free Event: The Dark Web Beneath Our Feet
Bathurst Library invites you to dive into the fascinating underground world of fungi at a special talk with ecologist, author and environmental photographer Dr Alison Pouliot, on Thursday 1 May at 6:00pm.
Alison will share insights and images from her new book, Funga Obscura: Photo Journeys Among Fungi, as well as stories from her travels across the globe in pursuit of these curious and captivating organisms. Copies of Funga Obscura and Dr Pouliot’s other titles will be available for purchase on the night.

Health and Wellbeing Survey
Mayors across the NSW Central West are urging community members to participate in a health survey organised by the Central NSW Joint Organisation Board. This survey, a collaboration between the Western & Far Western Local Health Districts and the Western NSW Primary Health Network, will help shape future health programs. Your feedback will impact primary health care services and government-provided services.

Bathurst Sportsground | Temporary Closure
The Bathurst Sportsground will be temporarily closed to the general public whilst the field undergoes its annual preparation works for the 2025 winter sports season.
The annual rye seeding application was undertaken on 31 March and it is essential that there is no field use until the winter rye grass seed has germinated and established.
It is anticipated that the Sportsground will be opened to the public by 29 April 2025.
Library Closure 24 & 25 April
Bathurst Library will be closed on 24 April for Union Picnic Day and 25 April for the Anzac Day public holiday.
Normal hours will resume on Saturday 26 April, 10am-3pm.
Temporary Road Closure - Ribbon Gang Lane
Council advises that Ribbon Gang Lane will be closed from Thursday 20 March 2025 for a period of approximately 12 weeks. During this time access will be maintained for pedestrians and adjacent properties.
The temporary closure is for Scaffolding Works completed by DSL Construction with enquiries to be directed to 0400 096 505.
