Bathurst Traffic Model – Update

The Bathurst Traffic Model was developed for the Bathurst region in 2019 to guide the road network planning process. The transport model is a powerful tool for informing the planning and decision-making process, understanding the potential future pinch points and comparing the impact of different infrastructure and land release scenarios.

The Bathurst Traffic Model is being updated with additional counts to be undertaken on 30th and/or 31st October. Traffic counters will be set up from the beginning of the week commencing 28 October.

The update to the Bathurst Traffic Model will enable the predicted growth of an additional 12,690 persons by 2041 to be modelled (NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure population projections).

Council’s contribution towards the cost of updating the Bathurst Traffic Model has been funded from a grant from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Asset Survey

Council has commissioned Micromex to undertake a survey about Council’s assets, its roads, bridges, footpaths and cycleways, buildings, stormwater, and parks and reserves,

Council wants to understand your thoughts on how these assets should be looked after now and into the future. Your input will be used to assist Council in managing the demands on Council’s budget to deliver and maintain the diverse range of assets to our community. Council is seeking the views of the community to determine what is an appropriate level or standard to maintain our assets, and what are your priorities for the provision of assets (new and existing). We want to know what assets are important to you, and the condition these assets need to be in to meet your needs.

For more information and to provide your feedback, please visit: https://yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/asset-survey

Community Tree Planting Day Sunday 27 October

Join us this Sunday 27 October 2024 for our Community Tree Planting Day and lend a hand to help plant native plants for flying-fox habitat along the banks of the Macquarie Wambuul River.

Commencing at 10am off Morrisset Street and Zante Lane, downstream of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the event welcomes adults and kids alike to participate in planting native trees, shrubs, and grasses. The plantings will not only improve the health and function of this much-loved river but will help restore critical roosting habitat for the Little Red Flying-fox and threatened Grey-headed Flying-fox - seasonal visitors to our region!
