The Bathurst NAIDOC Committee will host a week of NAIDOC celebrations from Sunday 8 September 2024 - Saturday 14 September 2024.

- Monday 9 September | NAIDOC march, 10:00am starting at Haymarket Reserve
- Tuesday 10 September | Elders luncheon, 11:00am - 1:00pm at Kelso Community Hub
- Wednesday 11 September | Junior AECG Ball, 6:00pm - 10:00pm at Bathurst RSL Club
- Thursday 12 September | Sports Day, 9:30am - 3:30pm at Cubis Park Eglinton
- Friday 13 September | Family Bowls Day, 10:00am - 2:00pm at The Greens on William
- Friday 13 September | Musical BINGO Night, 6:00pm - 8:30pm at Kelso High Campus
- Saturday 14 September | NAIDOC Ball, 6:00pm at Bathurst RSL Club
Additionally, Manning Aquatic Centre will host an event on Friday 27 September from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

Changing places update
Work is progressing well on the construction of the changing places facility at Bicentennial Park. From Wednesday 4 September there will be some changes in the area to allow for works associated with the new building. Additional site fencing will be put in place near the new building to allow for the roof stormwater drainage discharge lines to be installed, work on the new accessible footpath to the new amenities building, two new accessible parking spaces on William Street and the new accessible path to the corner of Charlotte Street, including a pram ramp. Up to two of the existing parking spaces on William Street will close while the works occur, however the rest of the carparking will remain in use.
The playground area, picnic shelters and temporary toilets will all remain accessible by the public. The new changing places facility will include an accessible toilet/parents room, an accessible ‘Changing Places’ Design 2.0 adult change facility that includes a toilet, shower, adult changing table and overhead crane to meet special accessibility needs. There will also be male and female toilets included in the block.
Works are expected to be completed in December.
Household Chemical Cleanout
The annual Household Chemical Cleanout will be held on Sunday 20 October 2024, 10.00am – 1.00pm at the Cooke Hockey Complex Carpark. This cleanout event allows Bathurst residents to dispose of a range of household hazardous materials for free (household quantities only - up to 20L or 20kg).
The following items are accepted:
- Garden chemicals
- Pool chemicals
- Household cleaners
- Hobby chemicals
- Poisons
- Batteries
- Paints
- Motor oils, fluids and fuels
- Fluoro lights
- Gas bottles
- Fire extinguishers
- Smoke detectors

Bathurst Access Improvement Grants
Bathurst Regional Council in partnership with the Bathurst Regional Access Committee provides grants to assist local businesses, community organisations and sporting groups in the local area to improve access for all members of the community.
Businesses, community organisations and sporting groups within the Bathurst region may apply for funding of 50% of project costs up to a maximum of $5,000 on a dollar for dollar basis. Bathurst Regional Access Committee provide recommendations to Council for consideration to allocate the funding.
Projects must be completed within the current 2024/2025 financial year to be eligible to apply for a grant.
Applications close at 4pm on Friday 6 September 2024.
2024/25 Sporting Association Grants
Each year Bathurst Regional Council provides a grant scheme to assist local sporting organisations to undertake specific works or purchase equipment for the advancement of sport in the Bathurst Region.
Sporting organisations that are affiliated with the Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council are eligible to apply for these grants. A total of $10,000 has been allocated to this scheme.
Applications must be submitted by 10am Tuesday 24 September 2024.
