The 2024-2025 Bathurst Youth Council has held its first meeting and elected the Youth Mayor and Youth Deputy Mayor for the term. Aston Hornery has been elected as Youth Mayor and Zac Bemonte Deputy Youth Mayor.

Jessie Nunan is the Youth Media Officer.

General Manager David Sherley said 13 young people aged between 12 and 24 have been selected for the 2024 – 2025 Youth Council.

“The Youth Councillors were selected through a merit-based process and represent the voice of youth in our region.  On their term they will undertake a number of projects and initiatives that the Youth Councillors identify as priorities.

“The Youth Council also plays a valuable role for Council. As a group representing the region’s youth, Council engages with the Youth Councillors through their term to seek their feedback on Council projects and strategies including the Community Strategic Plan.

“Congratulations to the Youth Council of 2024-2025,” Mr Sherley said.
