Animals for Adoption
Council rehomes cats and dogs from the Bathurst Animal Rehoming Centre. If you see a cat or dog you like, you are welcome to enquire about the purchase of that animal. These animals are looking for their forever homes, can you help by calling (02) 6333 6190 to book an appointment.
7 March 2025 Update:
BARC has now finished the quarantine period and is open again for adoption appointments for both dogs and cats. Two appointments will be available each weekday at 2pm and 3pm, and no additional appointments will be scheduled outside of these times until further notice. Walk-ins are not permitted.
10 February 2025 Update:
BARC remains closed to the public, however, from Wednesday 12 February the facility is resuming cat appointments only, with specific conditions in place. Two appointments will be available per day, 2pm and 3pm, and no additional appointments will be scheduled outside these times. Walk-ins will not be permitted. These conditions will remain while the facility remains in quarantine.
18 January 2025 Update:
Appointments at BARC have been put on hold due to a confirmed case of Parvo Virus within the facility. BARC is currently under quarantine and a thorough deep clean has been undertaken. Read the full media release here.
