Macquarie River Bicentennial Park

The Macquarie River Bicentennial Park was established as part of Bathurst's 1988 Bicentennial Celebrations. The park lies adjacent to the Macquarie River at the lower end of William Street.

The park includes a children's playground area, peace garden, remembrance walls and the Ohkuma Japanese Garden. The Japanese Garden is an ideal site for weddings. To book a wedding download the application form here...(PDF, 152KB)

The Macquarie River Bicentennial Park Playground is a great facility located on the banks of the Macquarie River. The playground provides loads of great activities for children with swings, slides, huge climbing frame, rockers and cubby houses. The park is located only a short stroll from the CBD and Bathurst Aquatic Centre. After the kids have had a play what better way to top off a great day out than with a leisurely stroll along the picturesque Macquarie River.

Take your pooch to the parkland along The Macquarie-Wambuul River between Hereford and Stanley Streets, River Road and Evans Bridge Bathurst. This area is only off leash before 8.00am and after 4.00pm AEST and before 8.00am and after 5.00pm DST.

Please note that the toilet block near the playground is currently under construction. Alternatively toilets can be found under the flagstaff or at nearby take-away restaurants.
