Recycling is the process of converting waste into a reusable material and is one of the main actions that we can undertake as individuals to reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfill. Recycling conserves our natural resources by not having to extract new raw materials from the earth to create a product and reusing what already exists, protecting ecosystems and reducing pollution.

Recycling is something we can all do.
Yellow lid bins: Council provides kerbside yellow lid bins which are collected (emptied) by contractor collection trucks with contents taken to a sorting facility in Orange NSW and then transported to a processing facility in Sydney.
Green lid bins: Recycling food organics and garden organics through your green lid kerbside bins turns the contents into nutrient rich compost. Bathurst’s organic kerbside green lid bins are collected, with contents taken for processing at Blayney where they go through a sorting and composting process.
