Council is undertaking community consultation for the development of the Bathurst 2036 Housing Strategy. The Bathurst 2036 Housing Strategy will be a strategic document which will assist Bathurst Regional Council encourage a range of housing that meets the existing and future housing needs of the city of Bathurst. The Housing Strategy will guide how residential development in Bathurst will be planned and managed into the future.
One of the primary aims of the Housing Strategy is to examine the location and type of existing housing stock, existing planning controls and standards and vacant residential land stock and identify key issues for the future supply of housing in the city of Bathurst.
Council has published a discussion paper on the current development scenario for Bathurst which includes building statistics, population projections and suburb profiles.
