Free cuppa for the driver

Council is again supporting the Free Cuppa for the Driver scheme which allows drivers who have travelled 100 km or more to have a free cuppa to encourage rest breaks when driving long distances.

When: From 1 March to 31 May 2017.

Where: Participating businesses in Bathurst are Becks Bakery (81-83 George Street) and The Mad Season Café (William Street).

Harmony Day

The Harmony Day celebration is to be held in the forecourt of the Bathurst Library and Art Gallery. It will include performances from the Bathurst Drumming Group, the Sounds Live Choir, Isabella Jacobson, Liz Talbot and Emily Geerkins and Katelyn Witherspoon. There will be a number of activities for kids on the day as well. Free food and drink, as well as a cake will be available at the event.

When: Saturday, 18 March 10am-12pm
Where: Bathurst Library and Art Gallery forecourt

The event is free.

Tree planting Day

Help to plant trees along the riverbank as part of a project to restore the Macquarie River back to a condition suitable for threatened native species, including the Regent Honeyeater.

Fernery closed for refurbishment

The Fernery is currently closed while undergoing a refurbishment. New windows were recently installed and Council will be replacing the roof frame and re-roofing the facility over the coming weeks.

It is expected the Fernery will re-open in time for Easter.

Helping learner drivers become safer drivers

A free workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers will be held by Bathurst Regional Council and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will offer parents and supervisors hands-on advice on how to provide the most effective driving practice for learner drivers.

Sustainability Expo

Bathurst Regional Council will host chefs and television celebrities Colin Fassnidge and Matthew Evans as special guests for the 2017 Sustainable Living Expo. The Expo will be held in conjunction with the Bathurst Farmers Markets and entry is via a gold coin donation to gain access to both the Expo and Farmers Markets.
