Rugby League fields a step closer

MEDIA ALERT 19 April 2017

The rugby league fields on Hereford Street are a step closer with turf to be laid this week on one of the fields.

Council is in the process of constructing two new rugby league fields and a clubhouse to be used by the St Pat’s Rugby League Club. The extensive works are almost a $2 million investment into local rugby league community.

Bathurst Mayor Graeme Hanger OAM said rugby league has a huge following in the region and the new fields will benefit the rugby league community.

“We have worked closely with the community to develop this project and the works are expected to be complete in time for the 2018 season," he said.

“The fields and clubhouse will cater for all levels of rugby league and sporting activities.”
