Sustainable Living Expo

The Sustainable Living Expo is coordinated by Council to provide information about sustainable living, including green design and construction, solar power, gardening and wildlife. This year the Expo will feature some very special guests; The Gourmet Farmer, Matthew Evans and Celebrity Chef, Colin Fassnidge, along with the Shoalhaven Zoo to You and King & Queen of Green, so there will be something for every member of the family to enjoy. The Expo also features a variety of stalls by local businesses and environmental groups and is held in conjunction with the Bathurst Farmers Markets. The Expo will be held on Saturday 25 March 2017 from 8am to 12 noon at the Bathurst Showgrounds and entry is via a gold coin donation to gain access to both the Expo and Farmers Markets.

To hold at stall at the 2017 Bathurst Sustainable Living Expo please complete the registration form as soon as possible.

The Sustainable Living Expo continues to grow and after a great event in 2016, Council has already commenced planning for the 2017 event which will feature Matthew Evans, "The Gourmet Farmer" speaking on the main stage. Mathew is a former chef and  restaurant critic who threw it all away to become a smallholder in Tasmania's peaceful and pituresque Huon Valley. Matthew is the presenter of the show Gourmet Farmer on SBS and most recently the three part series For The Love of Meat which aired in late 2016 on SBS. Matthew will be speaking about the benefits in using local produce and how to incorporate some of the wonderful produce available in Bathurst into your weekly meals amongst other things.

Alongside Matthew Evans, Council will also welcome Colin Fassnidge, Chef and Owner of restaurant 4Fourteen in Sydney and judge on the popular PRIME television show My Kitchen Rules to the Expo. Colin will be demonstrating how to prepare some of his favourite meals and talking us through how to minimise food waste by carefully considering how to use different cuts of meat. Colin's engaging demonstration will be one of many highlights of the 2017 Sustainable Living Expo.
