Waste 2 Art showcases creative works made from reused and recyclable waste materials, and is designed to get people thinking about reducing, reusing and recycling waste. This exciting project invites schools, community groups and individuals to turn waste into an art form of their choice, from sculptures to clothing.
The theme waste stream featured for 2017 is Plastic Bags and Plastic Packaging however artworks can be made from any recyclable materials, there is no requirement to use plastic. There are great prizes on offer for the local exhibition and there is a category for every member of the community from pre school aged children through to professional artists.
Winners from each category in the local exhibition then go on to be exhibited as part of a Regional Exhibition which in 2017 will be hosted by Orange City Council, opening on 8 July 2017.
Entry forms for the 2017 exhibition and competition are available here.
